Beautiful Weekend for the Perry Roubaix

‘Attrition’ was the word for the Perry Roubaix Road Race on Sunday, as every field was whittled down from the demanding course. Amos Harvey rode hard and rode angry, leading the chase group. Yes, Amos Harvey was angry…about missing the break. Speaking of Amos’ efforts in the chase, Chris Lessing reported “I believe that’s the strongest I’ve seen him. You know your teammate is strong when you’re sitting behind him wishing he would not go so fast:)”

Amos broke out another top 10 finish, taking 10th place at the Perry Roubaix Road Race.

In the Cat 3 Circuit Race, Reggie Pineda and Grayson Tudor delivered Matt Corse for the bunch sprint victory for a third place finish. Unfortunately, two riders leaked off the front of the peloton with 6 laps to go and held off the field for the first two Cat 3 podium spots. Jason Smitherman and Andrew Hodges worked well together in the Pro, 12 Circuit Race, earning a 7th place finish for Andrew.

2013 Fouche Gap Road Race Brings RHR Together

The Fouche Gaps Road Race was one of the best organized races RHR has raced, and hats off to the race organizers and Rome Velo. Registration was smooth, the race was well marshalled, plenty of volunteers were present with neutral water in the feed zone, the roads were great, and the weather was perfect.

Fouche Gaps was one of those events that reminds us why we ride, why we race, and why we are part of RHR. Gregg Palaian recounted after the race:

Let me start off by saying thank you! Late last week I put together a sentence that finished with “I would like to be the guy”….. long after I finish racing, I will not remember today’s result. What I will remember is how many of you quickly, and without hesitation offered support and a willingness to work on my behalf to give me the opportunity. Even those who could not race today, or where racing a different race, chimed in to offer support and a ‘wish they could’ commitment. It was great show of team, and touched me –thank you. It’s fantastic to be racing with such a great group of guys.

Amos Harvey expressed similar sentiments in the the Pre, 1, 2 race:

Cool under pressure. There were a couple of key moments when Chris appeared like magic at the perfect time. Presto! a teammates wheel to follow. Hodges looked very strong today. Super attentive and jumping with big guns as the attacks went. Great job mate. I managed 10th with the help.

It was a great day.
